In the 1800's the average life span was 40 years old in Industrialized nations.  Thanks to modern science and medicine we are now expected to live into our early 80's but we also know we can live to 120.  On average our last 13 years are spent in declining health.

Longevity medicine looks at how, using evidence based medicine, we can avoid significant declining health (healthspan), while living out our years to a maximum span (lifespan).

What are the diseases that are the leading causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide:

  • Cardiovascular and Cerebral Vascular Disease

  • Cancer

  • Insulin resistance (prediabetes and diabetes)

  • Mental Health Disorders

  • Neurodegenerative disorders

Current medical practice is focused on the diagnosis and treatment of disease processes and very little on chronic disease prevention and new technologies on early cancer detection.
